From the teacher's desk...
Spin and Spell

Spin and Spell is a great website that children of all ages will enjoy. You simply pick a category, spin the wheel, and spell the word by clicking on the letters on the wheel.

To play by yourself:
1. Click on the picture you want to spell.
2. Dial the first letter on the wheel by clicking it with your
mouse. The wheel will spin and your letter will appear
    below.
3. Then dial the rest of the letters and click "Submit"
    when you are finished.
4. If you think you made a mistake, click "Clear" and
    start over.
5. The picture will enlarge and the word will display if
you spelled it correctly. "Sorry, Try Again" will
appear if you spelled it incorrectly.
6. If you are unable to spell the word correctly and want
to see it, click "Show Me The Word."

Your child will love this game. It is a great game to play with multiple players. I have used this game in my classroom and all of my students have enjoyed playing and spelling new words together.

Making File Folder Games For Preschoolers

I love to teach and work with children. Preschoolers are no exception. As little ones, they love to explore and learn. A good way to help them learn things is by role modeling, using everyday objects around the house as teaching tools, and playing games. Below you will find a website that is centered around preschool learning. I highly recommend the use of file folder games to help in the teaching process. These games can be printed in color or black and white and offer rich resources for your young preschooler. If you don't have manilla folders, a big piece of construction paper folded in half will work just fine. I always staple a plastic zip lock baggie to the back of the folder for game pieces. These are great manipulatives that can be taken anymore. Hope you enjoy this website and please feel free to leave me a comment below. Here is one of my favorites...
